CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. That’s right, ya girl is finally giving the popular Whole30 thing a go! Have any of you ever tried this? Here are some of my reasons for starting:
RESET
I usually have a pretty balanced diet. I definitely don’t say no to most foods. 🙂 HOWEVER, during the Q I have found myself craving junky food more than usual. I also have been extremely lethargic and lose almost all energy by 1-2pm. I’m hoping by giving this challenge a go, I can become less dependent on quick, non-nutritious snacks/meals and learn how to reach for nutrient and energy dense foods.
I’ve also been drinking more alcoholic beverages than usual (? maybe, I can’t tell since we don’t go out for happy hours any more) and I’d like to save money there.
ALL I NEED IS THE MONEY
Haha, but actually though. I have been spending SO MUCH DOUGH on food delivery and groceries and I truly have no excuse. With Whole30, you really do have to plan ahead before shopping and cooking because you can’t just eat anything. Here’s to hoping my body and my wallet thank me by the end of this.
I NEED A CHALLENGE
I feel like I always try to commit to stuff like this and give up halfway through. IT’S HARD ok??? I’m hoping that since I planned like crazy for this and I’m telling you all about it, I will be held accountable. 🙂 If I complete this, I’ll seriously be so proud.
GUIDELINES:
So here’s what it’s all about-
- THIS IS NOT FOR WEIGHT LOSS (for me), I am doing this to become healthier not skinnier, k thanks.
- Eating WHOLE foods, no processed stuff
- NO added sugars or sweeteners (includes honey, agave, stevia, etc.)
- No dairy
- No grains
- No alcohol
- No legumes
- No MSGs or sulfites
- NO STEPPING ON THE SCALE
Think you’re interested in giving it a shot? I started today (June 1st) to start the month on a fun note, but this challenge can be started any time any day. I attached below the meal planners that I’ve created for myself that you can use too!
Lastly, just a quick shout out to my OG’s wine and chocolate, I’ll miss you guys and see you soon.
